The audit landscape
SON certifies management systems
The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) runs a management systems certification department. Its accreditation from the International Accreditation Service, granted in January 2024, covers ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, among others.
MANCAP is product certification
MANCAP, the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme, is SON's product certification scheme for locally manufactured products. It checks products against the relevant Nigerian Industrial Standards. It is not a management system certificate.
The Factories Act and inspections
The Factories Act, Cap F1, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, is enforced by the Occupational Safety and Health Department of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, through inspections, accident investigations, notices and prosecutions.

Every line in one audit programme
Each planned audit belongs to a department or site, so a plant, a line or a warehouse can carry its own schedule while head office sees progress for all of them. Audit types cover internal, external, supplier, surveillance, certification and follow-up audits.
Bring an existing programme in from .xlsx or .csv. Every row is validated before anything is created, and legacy .xls files are rejected with a message.

Checklists built around your process
Templates hold questions and fields, built by you and able to follow the clause structure of a standard. Fields can be text, numbers, dates or choices, so a reading, a batch number or a calibration date is captured as data rather than a note.
Each answer is recorded as in order or as an exception. Photos and records can be attached as files to the audit or the finding.

Findings are graded low, medium, high or critical. Yearly analytics show open findings, open and overdue actions, and audits by type each month, which helps show whether a problem keeps coming back.
Reports are created as drafts, and audit history exports to CSV for management review.

Manufacturing: questions
Is MANCAP the same as ISO 9001 certification?
No. MANCAP is SON's mandatory product certification for locally manufactured products. ISO 9001 certification covers a quality management system, and is issued by a certification body such as SON's management systems certification department.
Can we plan ISO 50001 energy audits?
Audit plans and spreadsheet import accept ISO 50001. The audit itself is run as a custom audit from your own template, since audits can be started against ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 and 45001 or a custom template.
Can auditors record measurements?
Yes. Template fields can be numbers and dates as well as text and choices, so readings and dates are recorded alongside the in order or exception answer.
Does Orisynx certify our factory?
No. Orisynx is audit management software. It does not certify anyone or guarantee certification; it keeps the audit record that a certification body will ask to see.
