Ports, depotsand warehouses
Logistics operators in Nigeria run terminals, depots, warehouses and fleets, often for several principals at once. Orisynx keeps the audits of each location, the findings and the corrective actions in one programme.

The audit landscape
Ports on a landlord model
Port reform that began in 2003 adopted a landlord model for Nigerian ports and led to 25 terminals being concessioned to private terminal operators, on leases of 10 to 25 years.
NIMASA and the ISPS Code
The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is the Designated Authority for the ISPS Code in Nigeria. In July 2025 it closed two Lagos terminals for persistent non-compliance, citing the ISPS Code Implementation Regulations 2014.
NAFDAC inspects warehouses
NAFDAC's Food Safety and Applied Nutrition Directorate inspects warehouses, among other premises, as a prerequisite for licensing.
Audits you’ll run
Against ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001, and your own templates for anything else.
- Warehouse safety audits of racking, forklifts and walkways
- Port facility and site security reviews
- Audits by principals of storage and handling conditions
- Haulage and subcontractor audits
- Fleet and driver compliance reviews
- Fire and emergency preparedness audits
Every location in one programme
Each planned audit belongs to a department or site, so terminals, depots and warehouses carry their own schedules. Progress is shown per department, and a shared calendar shows audits and due dates, including overdue work.
An existing programme can be imported from .xlsx or .csv, with every row validated before anything is created.

Audits for principals and hauliers
External, supplier and follow-up are all audit types, so an audit by a principal and your own audit of a haulier sit in the same plan. Templates are built by you, with text, number, date and choice fields.
Files, links and notes can be attached as evidence, and controlled documents sit in a separate document library.

Every action through to verify
The person responsible for an action accepts or disputes it, then works through tasks with an assignee, priority and due date. A daily email digest shows each person what is overdue and what is due soon.
Every action passes through verify before it can close, and its effectiveness is recorded on the action.

Logistics and ports: questions
Does Orisynx include an ISPS Code checklist?
No. There are no pre-loaded checklists. A security review can be run as a custom audit from a template you build, or against ISO/IEC 27001:2022 where information security is in scope.
Can we audit hauliers and other subcontractors?
Yes. Supplier is one of the audit types, and a follow-up audit can be planned to check the fix.
Can we see overdue work across all our depots?
Progress is shown per department, including overdue audits, and the shared calendar shows overdue work. Yearly analytics show open and overdue actions and tasks, and each person’s open, completed and overdue work.
